EXCITING NEWS THIS SUMMER – 2012 LONDON OLYMPICS

JUMP INTO 2012

Following a successful debut at the London Prepares Series in 2011, four British Champions from “Jump Rope UK”, Beci Dale, Rachael Dale, Laura Summers and Gemma McGhee, have been given the honour to demonstrate the sport at the 2012 London Olympics as top performers. The girls, along with eight other elite Jump Rope stars from …all over the world, have been invited to perform during the complete period of the event.
The elite Jump Rope group “GET TRICKY” will take four weeks from their increasingly busy schedules to showcase the skill of Jump Rope on the highest platform. Team Manager Sue Dale has spent months coordinating the British Champions along with teammates Nick Woodard and Robbie Csonstos (Hot Dog USA); Joe Edney and Ted Lehman (Bouncing Bulldogs USA); twins Wouter and Willem Tack, and Jonas Vermeulen (Recrean Belgium); and Vivien Vajda (Hungary) to choreograph a number of performances to wow the unsuspecting crowd. The group is honoured to represent the growing International Jump Rope community at the 2012 London Olympics.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) are currently putting the finishing touches on plans to host the “GET TRICKY” stars

Adez Juice Commercial 2006

Back in May 2006 Beci and Rachael were cast for a Commercial for a juice drink called Adez. The commercial was shot in Barcelona and the girls were part of a team made up of American, French and Spanish skippers. The Final edit of the video is below:

The One Show with Michael McIntyre

Jump Rope UK were asked to appear on “The One Show” to perform a 45second routine to impress and then get Michael McIntyre into the Double Dutch ropes. So Beci, Laura and Gemma travelled down with Coach Sue Dale to appear on the Live show. The girls did a brilliant performance and successfully got Michael McIntyre jumping inside the ropes first time. He was actually pretty good and looked like he was having a lot of fun jumping around with his bouncy hair. The video is below:

Jumping with the Stars Workshop 2011

Rachael and Beci were asked to be on staff at the Jumping with the Stars annual Comet skippers workshop held in Ohio, which is the biggest workshop held in the USA. This was Rachael’s 3rd year of being asked back and Beci’s 1st year of attending to teach at this workshop. They travelled round many schools in the area on the friday with a mixed group of 40 jumpers from across europe and the USA.The saturday consisted of workshop sessions with a staff show to end the night and on the Sunday they held a elite workshop for those who wanted more tuition and wanted to work towards competitions. It was a great experiance and the girls feel very priviledged to be asked to be part of workshop.

GymBox documentry

Beci and Gemma were put forward to appear on the channel 4 documentry for GymBox which will be out in the next few months. The documentry is about following 3 personal trainers that are looking for new ways to work out in the gym. Beci and Gemma had to pitch Jump Rope to the judges demonstrating their own skills as well as how it would work in a fitness enviroment. The judges loved the girls passion for the sport and and loved Jump Rope. We hope they loved it enough to use it in their gyms…well have to wait and see.

North Carolina annual Bouncing Bulldogs workshop

Rachael from Jump Rope UK was asked to be on staff at the North Carolina annual Bouncing Bulldogs workshop. This was Rachael’s 3rd year of being asked back to teach at this workshop. She went round many schools in the area on the friday with the rest of the internationals put on shows to the schools. The saturday consisted of workshop sessions with a staff show to end the night and a very fun battle between the staff which can be seen in videos very soon.

Paris IDDC – Fusion competition

Rachael travelled to Paris to compete in the IDDC fusion competition with 5 belgium guys. Rachael travelled to Belgium a few weeks before to work with the guys and in there few sessions they put together a great routine. The next time they got together was in Paris where they performed the routine to everyone. The performance went down amazingly and the audience loved it. They won over the judges and audience and were placed 3rd overall.

Performing with Comedian Jason Byrne at the Hammersmith apollo London

Jump Rope UK worked with Veyom and Ankur Bahl (two ex american jumpers) to put a performance together for the filming of Comedian Jason Byrnes next DVD – “Cirque Du Byrne”. The girls travelled down to London where the filming took place at the Hammersmith Apollo. Jason joined in with the performance and showed some great skipping talent. The Performance went amazing and the audience loved it, it was a great end to his show.

Will keep you posted on when the DVD will be out next year.
